General Information

ECVP recognises the following types of training programmes: standard and alternative.

•    Standard training programmes may be followed in an ECVP-registered residency training centre. The ECVP requires that all institutions offering standard training programmes are registered for candidates to sit the ECVP examination. This endorsement indicates to potential candidates and the wider community that certain criteria for the provision of appropriate training have been met. The current list of ECVP-registered residency training centres is available here https://www.ecvpath.org/training-centres
•    An alternative training programme can be planned individually or can be based on a modular credit system:

Candidates who obtained their veterinary qualification from a non-EAEVE-approved institution must also upload additional documentation with their application. This includes a curriculum vitae detailing their nationality, as well as current and previous positions. Additionally, applicants must provide a support letter from the programme director confirming that the candidate is suitable for ECVP resident registration despite holding a non-EAEVE-approved qualification.
