The 2025 BSC will be an online event in the same format as prior years:
1. Asynchronous Preview Period (Fri. May 9th to Fri. May 30th, 2025)
Pre-recorded lectures and notes are available for ~3 weeks for self-directed preview.
2. Synchronous Live Sessions: Sat. May 31st to Sun. June 22nd, 2025
An ~3-week period of once-daily live online discussions, image recognition sessions (i.e., "slide rounds"), and social events.
3. Asynchronous Review Period: Mon. June 23rd to Mon. July 7th, 2025
A final 2-week period during which recordings of all materials (lectures, online discussions, and image recognition sessions) remain available for self-directed review.
No further access will be possible outside of these times, and no in-person options are possible in 2025. A draft outline of the 2025 course can be accessed here.
This format provides each attendee maximum flexibility in the way they learn. Over the 8 weeks, you can watch all recorded lectures and discussions as many times as you wish, on your own schedule. In addition, you can log-in live to any discussions to hear new and additional material and to have your questions answered by the course speakers. And we encourage you to participate in the live image recognition sessions (“slide rounds”). However, all discussions and slide rounds are also recorded so that you may watch them on delay if the timing is not good for you, or watch them again at any time throughout the course if you need a “refresher”.
