Animal: Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes), adult, male
Organ: anal sac (Sinus paranalis)
History: The animal was submitted to necropsy to exclude zoonotic diseases.
Autopsy findings: The animal showed characteristic macroscopic lesions due to a chest hit, large hemorrhages and laceration of skin, muscles, lung, heart, large vessels, trachea and esophagus as well as rips fractures. No gross lesions were found at the anal sac.
Diagnosis: Anal sac, moderate, diffuse, eosinophilic to lympho-histiocytic inflammation with intralesional nematode eggs consistent with Capillaria sp..
