Animal: Dog, male.
Organ: Intestinal tract (ileum, ileocecal valve and proximal colon).
History: Sudden death.
Etiology: Foreign body.
Macroscopic findings: Histology was not performed.
Morphological diagnosis: Intestinal tract (ileum, ileocecal valve and proximal colon): Diffuse and severe hemorrhagic enteritis.
Comment: The marble occluded the passage of digestive contents through the ileocecal valve, inducing haemorrhagic enteritis that led to shock and sudden death of the animal.
